Films

Below are some of the film projects I worked on/produced during my academic career at Messiah.

  • A short film I directed for the Ephemeral Film Festival. The film incorporates the word "ephemeral", meaning "brief" or "short lived."
THIS IS DIGITAL Commercial (2015)
  • A commercial for my Senior Seminar & Capstone
course in which the assignment was to create a
digital artifact that addressed "Digital Media
             about Digital Media."

Dance Film (2015)
  • A group project that I filmed and  edited for  Film and HD Production II in which we filmed a dance routine utilizing our own preset aesthetic.
0° Celsius (2014)
  • A group project that I helped film and edit for Film and HD Production I. Our assignment was to reinterpret a scene from Disney's Frozen. We chose to transform the scene into a horror film.
The Enchanted Tramp (2014)
  • A remake of Thomas Edison's The Enchanted Drawing (1900) that I directed and edited for Film History I.

Picture
During three of my four years at Messiah, I served as an author, site manager, and editor for Messiah's Cinemablography project,
which serves to chart a cinematic map of the 21st century in
film in addition to help bridge the gap between academia and
popular culture.

I wrote many blogs over the three years for Cinemablography,
with topics ranging from current director profiles to behind-the-scenes looks from different films to new techniques and aesthetics being used in the industry today (such as the long shot) I have also written film reviews including Robert Zemeckis' The Walk and Christopher Nolan's 2014 sci-fi film Interstellar, among many others. I have also contributed to the Science Fiction section of the site, writing a paper on Francis Lawrence's apocalyptic thriller I Am Legend.

Ultimately, I carried my love of writing for Cinemablography into my film reviews which I currently write for every film that I see in theaters.
